Holiday Hope Chest Drive @ Parkland Community Library

Friday, November 1-Ends on November 23rd.

Drop off items to be included in the library’s Holiday Hope Chests! The Parkland Communtiy Library is participating in the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley’s Holiday Hope Chests. Create your own chest or drop off items to be put in the library’s chests. Check our website for a list of items that can be purchased to be used in the Hope Chests.

Drop off anytime till Nov. 23 at the our children’s department or the circulation desk after hours.

Join us for a Wrap Party on Monday, November 25th (materials provided).

“Holiday Hope Chests is a national project adopted by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, in partnership with Enterprise Holdings, UGI and Kids Care Clubs to help less fortunate children living in the Lehigh Valley. Holiday Hope Chests (individually prepared shoe boxes filled with age/gender appropriate gifts) will be distributed during the holiday season to LV non-profit agencies serving children.” – Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley

Items Wanted: * Please select an item tag from our Hope Tree.*

Shoe boxes: No hinge-lid or boot boxes.

Holiday wrapping paper.

All items should be able to fit into a standard shoe box. This years ages are 2-3 years old gender neutral and 4-5 years old.

* Can be a gender neutral item.

All toiletry items should be in the original packaging–please don’t open multi-packs.  

Items to Avoid:

Balloons, Cameras, Candy/Gum/Food, Glass items, Money, Religious materials, Sharp items: scissors, razors, knives, Toy guns, Used or opened items, Violent or inappropriate books, movies, or CDs, Webkinz.

Doreen Cronin author of “The Chicken Squad” series and many other New York Times bestselling picture books, including the Caldecott Honor Book “Click, Clack, Moo”, will be presenting and discussing her books at Springhouse Middle School. There will be a book signing and free crafts and activities for all ages following the presentation.
Doors open at 10 AM.
The event is FREE, however, we require you RSVP for space is limited.
This event is sponsored by Wells Fargo/George & Judith Arangio Foundation Trust and Keystone Savings Foundation and the Friends of the Parkland Community Library.
Parking
Public parking for this event is available in front of the main entrance of Springhouse Middle School. The lot is accessible off of Crackersport Road.
